ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group provided the Code Division Multiple Access system used in Cellular One’s Jan. 1 launch of digital service in Phoenix.
Motorola said the Phoenix launch was the 13th using its CDMA equipment.
The contract for the CDMA system between Motorola and Cellular One was announced in September. The companies value the agreement at $53 million.
The company said it has launched CDMA systems in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Chicago, Milwaukee, Honolulu, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin, Texas, in the United States. It has also launched a CDMA system in Lima, Peru.
