AXCESS PLANS TO DEPLOY PAGING VIA FM-SUBCARRIER FREQUENCIES

NEW ORLEANS- Axcess Global Communications Corp. is charting a national footprint to deploy paging using Radio Broadcast Data Service FM-subcarrier frequencies. The company offers traditional paging, and online information services to its customers.

To date, Axcess has licensed more than 90 FM broadcasters in 11 western states, has issued lease proposals in Texas and is targeting affiliates on the East Coast. Axcess plans to pursue its course of securing spectrum from broadcasters in other Gulf states throughout October, said the company.

In coming months, Axcess expects to purchase 200 to 300 additional affiliates, said company President Bobby Adams.

Axcess benefits by leasing subcarrier stations for delivering paging service, because it avoids the costs and time involved in securing spectrum from the Federal Communications Commission. The towers used by FM broadcasters are tall and provide coverage so that fewer terrestrial transmitters are needed. Also, FM subcarriers operate at the same frequencies worldwide.

Axcess said broadcasters gain from the continuous revenue stream that totals about $1.5 million annually.

The company is the exclusive service provider for Panasonic RDS pagers.
