CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Glenayre Technologies’ Wireless Messaging Group introduced the GL3200, which is a gateway from the Internet to both one- and two-way paging, delivering text messages to alpha pagers and providing new two-way paging services such as multistage e-mail transmission with multiple response capabilities.
The GL3200 Applications Gateway is interfaced to the GL3000 Wireless Messaging Switch through Glenayre’s Wireless Messaging Applications Programming Interface, a standard designed to simplify the development of narrowband personal communications services and one-way paging applications.

Beta testing of the GL3200 will be completed this year and commercial availability is expected by early 1997, the company said.
