MELBOURNE, Fla.-Go Wireless International Ltd. announced it will offer prepaid cellular service to customers who do not qualify for conventional cellular service. The service will be provided through major cellular carriers, resellers, agents, dealers and affinity groups.
Potential customers who would normally require high deposits or would otherwise be denied service are secured through the calling plan offered under a co-brand name, said Michael K. Clifford, Go Wireless president and chief executive officer. “Based on industry market research, a cellular provider should be able to increase activations up to 50 percent by tapping the prepaid market.”
Customer accounts are automatically debited in real time when calls are made. Accounts can be instantly refreshed either by credit card, at an authorized dealer or through Western Union.
The program requires no upfront investment, Clifford said, and operators will not have to deal with contracts, deposits or billing for prepaid subscribers.
“All they have to do is sell the service,” he said. “We can provide the actual telephone numbers, deposits, handle the switching, marketing plan and materials, unique distribution channels, multiple pay stations and rapid-response, multilingual customer service.”
The service is available in central and southern Florida, with plans to expand nationally and internationally.
