WASHINGTON-The Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association announced a new awards program to recognize innovative work in the field of wireless applications technology.
Winners of the first annual APPYs will be announced and demonstrated at Wireless Apps ’96 in Las Vegas. Wireless Apps will showcase the largest developments in wireless applications. CTIA said the APPYs will be awarded in three categories: hardware applications, software applications and end-user applications. Entrants will be judged on the most innovative uses of wireless technology for providing service to customers, improving business productivity and efficiency and advancing community benefits.
This year’s conference, scheduled for Oct. 7-9, has merged with CDPD Forum and Andy Seybold’s Mobile Outlook conferences.
