LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.-A new Cellular Impact Survey commissioned by Motorola Inc. and conducted by the Gallup Organization found differences and similarities between cellular phone users in Canada, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Mexico and the United States.
Most owners surveyed in all those countries agree that flexibility and efficiency increase by owning a cellular phone and that they are a good value.
The study concluded Hong Kong has the highest percentage of owners who use their phone everyday, more than 93 percent, while the United States ranked lowest, with only about 44 percent. But only 34 percent of Hong Kong users questioned said they believe cellular phones save money for their companies.
Mexico ranked lowest in percentage of owners who report their cellular phone enhanced business relationships, but Mexico’s “low” still reached 72 percent. Mexican subscribers ranked highest in thinking cellular added a significant amount of time to their day, let them leave work on time to make calls on the way home, allowed them to extend the work day and increased their productivity.
More than 90 percent of U.S. owners surveyed reported being more safe and secure with cellular.
