ISSAQUAH, Wash.-Western Wireless Corp. said it has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of class A common shares that is expected to raise about $200 million.
The company also plans to file a concurrent debt offering for up to $150 million of senior subordinated notes due 2006. Goldman, Sachs & Co., Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp., Merrill Lynch & Co. and Salomon Brothers Inc. will underwrite the offering.
Western Wireless owns and operates cellular phone systems marketed under the Cellular One name in 15 states and owns or has the rights to acquire seven personal communications services licenses.
