SAN FRANCISCO – AirTouch Communications Inc. said it acquired the assets of Hartford, Conn.-based Message Center Beepers, a privately help paging company serving customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
Former Message Center Beepers owner Henry Zachs also announced the launch of his new telecommunications services company called Zip-Call. The company will provide cellular and telephone answering services formerly provided by Message Center Beepers to markets alonlg the Eastern seaboard.
Message Beepers had 340,000 subscribers in 1995.
