Nickelodeon offers trio of mobile Web sites

Nickelodeon/MTVN’s Kids and Family group is launching three mobile Web sites designed for wireless and personal video devices, one for each of its target demographics.

Nickelodeon Mobile (wap.nick.com) will feature content aimed toward young children, with The N (wap.the-n.com) angling for tweens and teens and ParentsConnect (http://www.parentsconnect.com) acting as a resource for mothers and fathers.

The younger-skewing sites will feature games, features, flipbooks, quizzes and blogs.

The Viacom subsidiary hopes to capitalize on a reported 16.3 million page views and an average monthly traffic increase of 75% across its other combined mobile Web properties.

“Wireless is a growing interactive platform and screen for both kids and families,” said Steve Youngwood, executive VP of digital media at MTVN. “With these new WAP sites, we can provide relevant content to all of our audiences whenever they want and wherever they are.”

Julieanne Smolinski is a reporter for TV Week, a sister publication for RCR Wireless News. Both publications are owned by Crain Communications Inc.
