Mobile electronics accessory and design firm AViiQ has started a solidarity campaign for Japan with donations to the American Red Cross for every user that likes its Facebook page.

The “Like Us, Help Us” solidarity campaign lets users take a stand with earth shattered Japan, with $1 donated by AViiQ for every “like” it receives, from Friday. The minimum pledged donation from the firm totals $5,000 USD.

“We are deeply moved by the tragedy and we invite everybody to help AViiQ make the largest possible contribution,” said Alan Yeung, Director of Marketing for AViiQ. “It is completely free to “like” us on Facebook and it is a unique way to help in times of need.”

On Friday, March 11, the most powerful earthquake record in Japan’s history, measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale, struck the country’s shore, collapsing buildings, igniting widespread fires, and unleashing a Tsunami up to 30 feet high and reaching as far as 6.2 miles inland. The current death toll is already pushing into the thousands, with even more injured and missing.
