Texas companies Interphase Corp. (INPH) and Diodes Inc. (DIOD) both made recent announcements concerning expansion. The Plano-based companies are both involved in the wireless market in networking and components, respectively.
Interphase Corp., a developer of hardware networking products, announced that the firm will expand its product offerings into cloud computing and desktop virtualization. The company’s new product is called clouDevice and is planned to cater to government programs, businesses and schools to support virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), Citrix XenApp, Windows MultiPoint Server, among other desktop infrastructure product lines.
One initial client is M&A Technology, a Carrollton, Texas-based reseller.
Interphase delivers solutions for LTE and WiMAX, interworking gateways, packet processing, network connectivity and security for applications in the communications and enterprise markets.
Another Plano firm, Diodes Inc., a manufacturer of analog semiconductors, reported today that the company is investing in ERis Technology Corp., a Taiwanese component maker that provides manufacturing, design, and after-market solutions for diode components. Diode has the option to buy as much as $14M in stock, which amounts to around 10 million shares of ERis stock.
Diodes offers communications services for cellular devices in buck switching regulators, backlight drivers, low droput regulators, reset generators, hall effect devices and smart motor controllers.
Diodes struck a deal to acquire a minimum of eight million shares or 24% ownership of Eris, which trades on the Taiwan OTC Exchange market.
