LOS ANGELES-Amp’d Mobile Inc. unveiled its pre-launch marketing campaign, which will let consumers know that the youth-focused mobile virtual network operator is inching closer to its commercial launch-and shoppers shouldn’t sign a new contract until Amp’d hits the market.
The marketing campaign, developed by Taxi New York, will center on the tagline: “Try not to die-Amp’d Mobile is coming.”
The campaign will include traditional print advertisements, television spots and Web banner advertisements, as well as so-called “guerrilla” ads that will include sidewalk chalk art in a number of larger markets.
Amp’d Mobile said the pre-launch campaign will lead into the company’s official launch before the end of the year. A major launch campaign is set to run through the first quarter of next year. Amp’d Mobile has said its service will include data-heavy applications along with traditional voice offerings running over Verizon Wireless’ CDMA2000 1x EV-DO network.
