Telus Mobility’s Cope jumps to rival Bell Canada

VANCOUVER, British Columbia-Telus Corp. reported that George Cope, president and chief executive officer of Telus Mobility, has left the company to become chief operating officer of rival Bell Canada. Cope is expected to begin his new position in January and will take a position that has been vacant. Telus has yet to name a replacement for Cope.

Cope previously served as chief executive of Clearnet Communications before Telus acquired Clearnet in 2000. Cope then was named president and chief executive of Telus Mobility.
