NTT Docomo Inc said Monday it has decided to cut connection fees for calls to other cellphone service operators by up to the largest-ever 35.6% for fiscal 2010 ending in March.
Japan’s largest mobile phone operator said it has notified the Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry of the reduction retroactive to April last year in connection fees to be included in phone call rates paid by users, on the basis of a guideline released by the ministry in March 2010.
If KDDI Corp and Softbank Mobile Corp lower their connection fees as well, the moves could lead to lower call charges for users.
