Taipei, Taiwan – For many, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was about one thing and one thing only – Android collectible pins.
Back in February, Google caused such a craze with its shiny green memorabilia, that it had the halls of the Fira swarming with grown men pushing each other out of the way and elbowing each other in the ribs for a chance at adding another pin to their collection, hoping to grab the full set of 80+.
This week at Computex Taipei, Viewsonic has tried to cash in on a little bit of that Google magic, by coming out with its own versions of the coveted Android pins, with a Taiwan-y twist.
Featuring local landmarks like the Taipei 101 building, Viewsonic’s pins are actually rather nice looking, but somehow, the craze to acquire them hasn’t quite caught on in a show more obsessed with its booth babes than green robots.
We’ve taken a few snaps of the pins below, check them out and tell us whether you think Viewsonic’s efforts were Googly good or a bit of a Formosan flop.
