WASHINGTON-The Federal Aviation Administration is considering requiring commercial airplanes to put in place a mechanism using wireless or other technologies enabling flight attendants to discreetly notify the flight crew of suspicious activity, as well as security breaches on the aircraft.
The FAA will make a decision sometime after a 30-day public comment period closes.
An FAA spokeswoman said many commercial airliners already have in place systems such as those contemplated in the agency proposal.
