Cingular to release early version of Foo Fighters ringtone

ATLANTA-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. subscribers can access the ringtone from a new Foo Fighters single before the song hits radio airwaves, the carrier said Thursday.

Cingular and Sony BMG announced the availability of a ringtone from “D.O.A.,” which will be released to radio stations Monday. Subscribers can buy the ringtone for $2.50 plus a charge for the amount of data or time used to download the clip.

The offering is the latest from Cingular Sounds, which releases ringtones to subscribers before or as they are made available to the public. The carrier also rolled out six other music clips from Foo Fighters’ catalog.

Cingular also launched a subscription ringtone service allowing users to access three ringtones a month for $6 or six clips per month for $10.
