The Consumer Electronics Association announced it will team with training firm Corporate Dynamics Inc. to help sell its Wireless Certification Program to independent wireless retailers.
“Wireless retailers, both carrier and non-carrier-owned, need reputable sources for sales training and technology information,” said Mike Mohr, president of Celluphone and chair of CEA’s Wireless Communications Division. “Ultimately, it’s important that consumers have a knowledgeable wireless industry representative to assist with purchases and questions. CEA’s best-in-class wireless training program helps equip thousands of retailers nationwide with the information they need to best serve their customers.”
CDI will help CEA make sure its training materials, including its Web-based training program, reach wireless retailers.
“Our goal will be to make carriers and agents aware of the program and help them to integrate the WCP into their orientation for new hires and ongoing development for existing sales reps,” said Mark Landiak, president of CDI. “The major advancements in handset technology and applications like mobile imaging and mobile data features make it difficult for companies to keep their front-line salespeople informed. CDI has been providing training services to the wireless industry for more than 15 years, and we view the WCP as a perfect starting point for companies wishing to boost the knowledge and professionalism of their sales teams.”
CEA introduced its training effort in 2002.
