T-Mobile USA Inc. instituted a set of new promotional price plans and expanded its offerings at the increasingly popular $40 price point.
The carrier added a $40 per month Get More 1,000 Plus individual plan that includes unlimited night and weekend calling, but does not include mobile-to-mobile minutes. The carrier also introduced a 1,500-minute individual plan at the same monthly price that does not include off-peak or mobile-to-mobile calling. Customers can add unlimited on-network calling to both plans for $7 per month.
The pair of new offerings join T-Mobile’s 300-minute myFaves plan that includes unlimited off-peak calling at the now-crowded $40 price point.
T-Mobile USA also brought back its family myFaves option with 1,000 monthly minutes and no off-peak or mobile-to-mobile calling for $60 per month.
Alltel data hits the road
Alltel Corp. said its customers can now use Alltel laptop cards to access CDMA2000 1x EV-DO coverage in major metropolitan areas through the carrier’s roaming agreements.
Alltel said the roaming agreement runs through Sprint Nextel Corp.’s network.
The broadband wireless roaming includes major markets such as Boston, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Miami, Dallas, San Francisco, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Washington, D.C. Alltel expanded its own EV-DO coverage to more than half of its markets in 2006 and says it plans to aggressively expand its EV-DO network this year.
Tracfone goes bigger
Prepaid giant Tracfone Wireless Inc. recently rolled out a new high-end calling option that provides customers with 800 calling minutes that are good for one year for $140. The plan also provides double minutes, or half-price, on all future prepaid minutes purchased.
Tracfone previously offered the deal with 400 calling minutes for $130.
