Sierra to sell Junxion Box as part of M2M lineup

Sierra Wireless Inc. has launched its Junxion Box as its most recent addition to its AirLink Mobile and machine-to-machine line of devices, the company has announced.
The cellular router technology became part of the company’s umbrella of services when Sierra Wireless purchased Junxion Inc. in August. Sierra Wireless, which is based in Canada, bought the privately owned Junxion for an undisclosed amount. The move to acquire the Seattle company was made to bolster the company’s mobile data solutions for businesses and government agencies.
The Airlink Junxion Box can be used by businesses to provide Wi-Fi connectivity using cellular coverage in areas where wireline connections don’t exist. Customers can install wireless WAN applications, providing real-time access to remote data with a reliable connection. The solution can also be used with wireline connectivity, using the onboard WAN JugglerT software to manage connectivity failover for mission-critical applications.
The box enables applications for temporary or permanent wireless connectivity for retail and small offices, connectivity to remote devices and fleet and transit vehicles.
The box connects to 3G cellular networks and is compatible with all 3G Sierra Wireless AirCards and other PC connection cards. The box is being sold through wireless device distributor Brightpoint Inc.
