Verizon Wireless continues LTE expansion

Looking to put past network troubles behind, Verizon Wireless (VZ) continues to expand the reach and scope of its LTE network announcing expansion into nine new markets and increased reach of its current network in five markets.
The carrier said the LTE service is now available in Mobile and Montgomery Ala.; Greater Fairfield and New Haven, Conn.; Gainesville, Pensacola and Tallahassee, Fla.; Fayetteville-Lumberton, N.C.; and Bryan-College Station and Temple-Killeen, Texas. The expansion pushes the network to 55 “metropolitan areas,” on its way to more than 290 million potential customers covered by the end of 2013.
Verizon Wireless also reported that it has expanded the reach of LTE services in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans and Philadelphia.
