GREENVILLE, S.C.-The PCS Development Corp. said it plans to build prototype advanced messaging systems in Atlanta and Boston for conducting user trials the first half of 1996.

Motorola Inc. will provide infrastructure for the Atlanta system, and Glenayre Technologies Inc. will supply equipment for the Boston system.

Both cities are located in key markets. Atlanta is near PCSD headquarters in Greenville, S.C., noted the company, and Boston is the location of Arch Communications Inc., a strategic PCSD investor.

PCSD won regional narrowband personal communications services licenses in all five regions auctioned, enabling the company to develop a nationwide network.
