DENVER-Contel Cellular of California Inc. has acquired certain limited partnership interests in the California-4 Rural Service Area from affiliates of Evans Telephone Co., Pinnecles Telephone Co. and Ponderosa Telephone Co. California-4 serves a population of 347,000 in San Benito, Merced and Madera Counties in central California.
