MCLEAN, Va.-Cycomm International Inc. will sell its Series 300 cellular security products to AirTouch Cellular Communications Inc. to upgrade AirTouch’s Privacy Plus service in the greater Los Angeles area.
The new series will upgrade the Series 100, which AirTouch has used since 1994. The products will include a full range of privacy devices for car and handheld cellular phones, including a security interface for the handsfree 3-watt car kit Cycomm is developing for Motorola Inc.’s MicroTac cellular handset line.
“Our sophisticated voice privacy technology scrambles your cellular and landline calls so that all an eavesdropper hears is garbled speech,” noted Peter Hickey, chief executive officer and president of Cycomm.
“Customers want more sophisticated security offerings to keep their important conversations private, and this is a powerful solution for customers who have very high confidentiality needs,” said Brian Jones, executive vice president and general manager of AirTouch.
