E.F. JOHNSON SNARES DEAL TO SUPPLY RADIO NETWORK

BURNSVILLE, Minn.-E. F. Johnson Co. said it was awarded a contract for $11.7 million from Chester County, Pa., to provide its 800 MHz Multi-Net II trunked radio system. The new system will provide radios for all public-safety agencies in the county and will replace existing police, fire and emergency medical services systems.

Johnson said the radio system will include 11 consoles and more than 1,000 mobile and portable radios.

The Chester County Board of Commissioners authorized a complete overhaul of its public-safety communications system after a two-year study showed that the current system could not meet the demands of the county’s growing population.
