KEY FINISHES AGREEMENTS WITH DENVER BUSINESSES MOBILE ONE, OMNI RANGE

AURORA, Colo.-Key Communications Group Inc. said it completed agreements with Denver-based specialized mobile radio companies Mobile One Communications and Omni Range Communications LLC.

Key Communications, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of ComTec International Inc.-previously Nattem USA Inc.-acquired management agreements with Omni Range for 185 trunked SMR channels. Agreement terms with Mobile One were not specified, but Key said transactions with the two companies combined with its recent acquisition of PCC Management Inc. of Oceanside, Calif., could result in the company marketing wireless services in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas beginning within two months.

In related news, Aurora, Colo.-based ComTec said it acquired JSP Inc., a Denver-based television and film production company. Through a separate JSP joint venture, ComTec expects to become involved in interactive video, which President Don Mack said may include on-line wireless services.

Mack noted ComTec will be implementing a satellite up-link and Siemens Carrier Switch, making it possible for the company to offer long-distance service, enhanced services like voice mail and monitoring and billing services.

In an Aug. 21 meeting, company shareholders voted on the name change to better reflect ComTec’s activities in communications. Shareholders also voted to increase ComTec’s authorized common shares from 16 million to 50 million.
