SINGAPORE-Singapore Telecom MobileLink announced the completion of Singapore’s first national personal communications services network, which was designed and developed by Northern Telecom Ltd.
The Global System for Mobile communications network was installed by Nortel under a contract valued at $48 million, Singapore Telecom said. Nortel is providing a complete turnkey DCS 1800 cellular network, including radio base station equipment, mobility switching, mobility services and complete network engineering, installation, commissioning and maintenance support.
