RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Ericsson Inc. announced winning contracts to place its Freeset Business Wireless System at the world’s two largest futures exchanges, both located in Chicago.
The Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange selected Freeset to enhance their Chicago Loop area office and trading operations by adding in-building portable telephones to serve as wireless adjunct systems to exchange-provided dial tone, Ericsson said.
“Freeset is an efficient way to provide telephone service to people whose jobs require them to move around within the corporate business communications network,” said Guy Campbell, Ericsson’s vice president for Wireless Business Systems.
Because of its low output power, Freeset does not require frequency coordination or licensed spectrum, the company said.
