TAMPA, Fla.-TelCel, a provider of cellular service in Mexico, and MovilNet, which provides wireless service in Venezuela, have signed contracts with GTE Telecommunication Services for the latest release of its CloneDetector system, GTE announced.
In addition to installation, GTE will provide systems integration and maintenance support. TelCel and MovilNet also will use GTE’s TransAction Manager system, a service providing the automatic, real-time collection, reformatting and routing of data from the carriers’ switches to the CloneDetector system, GTE said.
The CloneDetector system uses artificial intelligence technology to help wireless carriers identify and minimize fraudulent calls. The system works by combining individual customer profiles with call data to create historical calling patterns and then automatically alerts wireless providers to unusual activity such as high call counts, calls to or from suspicious locations, simultaneous calls and calls at suspicious times of day.
