PIN NUMBER REQUIRED BY SNET CUSTOMERS

New Haven, Conn.-SNET Mobility Inc., under the Cellular One brand, introduced a personal identification number fraud protection program in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Mass.

SNET said the program requires the use of a four-digit PIN number, similar to those used at bank automated teller machines. Customers dial the cellular phone in the usual way and, after two quick rings or a brief announcement, enter the PIN number and press the send button, SNET said.
