BLAKE, LUNA PROMOTED, SMITHBERG HIRED IN RCR EDITORIAL DEPT.

DENVER-RCR Publications Inc. has promoted Jerry Blake to associate editor and promoted Lynnette Luna to reporter as part of the editorial department’s expansion.

Blake, who has served as research editor at RCR since he joined the company four years ago, will assume additional editing and production duties in his new position. He also will continue to lead RCR’s coverage of mobile data and the Internet.

Luna, who previously was an editorial assistant at the newspaper, will now assume greater writing duties, including covering the cellular beat for RCR.

In addition, Kristen Smithberg has been hired as editorial assistant for the newspaper. Smithberg is a recent graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Mo., where she received a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism and minored in political science. Smithberg started with RCR Sept. 3.

“I am pleased to announce two promotions and the further expansion of RCR’s editorial department,” announced Tracy Anderson Ford, editor. “Since going weekly, RCR has doubled its editorial staff in order to keep up with all of the breaking news in the wireless industry. Jerry and Lynnette have proven themselves to be up for their new assignments in the company. I am also delighted to be able to hire Kristen, who graduated from one of the best journalism schools in the country.”
