IRVINE, Calif.-AirTouch Cellular of Los Angeles introduced a standard roaming rate of 79 cents per minute for calls made in California but outside a customer’s home-rate calling area.
Roaming rates were previously based on the user’s location and included daily access charges that varied by location, AirTouch noted.
In addition, cellular calls now can be automatically delivered to subscribers in most major cellular markets in the United States and Canada without having to activate roaming service each day, the company said.
AirTouch Cellular of Los Angeles is a division of AirTouch Communications Inc., a global wireless communications company with interests in cellular, paging, personal communications services and the Globalstar satellite system.
