MCI ONE NOW AVAILABLE FOR BUSINESS USER

DALLAS-MCI Communications Corp. said it now can package business services a little more tightly under the networkMCI One program.

MCI One is a suite of services offered to residential customers; networkMCI One is a similar package of services for businesses.

“We’ve been offering business these things, but la carte, in segments,” said MCI spokesman Paul Adams. “We’ve solved the complex process of getting telecom products from multiple vendors together.”

Everything, including local service, is now woven into the networkMCI One package, the company said. The following can be listed on one corporate-level, monthly bill: domestic long distance, 800 service, international, international 800, local service, calling card, directory assistance, operator services, conferencing, cellular, paging, internet, airfone/railfone, dedicated access line and private line. MCI then figures in a discount. The target customers are Fortune 5000 businesses.

“Gone is the one-size-fits-all mentality that other businesses are peddling to their customers,” said Brian Brewer, MCI senior vice president of business marketing.

MCI resells cellular and paging, and will resell personal communications services. MCI built fiber optic networks in 13 major U.S. cities.
