AIRNET COMMUNICATIONS CORP. ANNOUNCES ALLIANCE IN SYDNEY

MELBOURNE, Fla.-AirNet Communications Corp. announced a strategic alliance with Comsyst Pty Ltd. of Sydney, Australia, to distribute and support AirNet’s software-based, broadband wireless infrastructure equipment products and systems in the Australian and Southeast Asian markets.

The company said the alliance is part of AirNet’s strategy for worldwide penetration of its wireless base station systems and products for the analog and digital cellular, wireless local loop and personal communication services industries.

“We are excited about the alliance with AirNet as we believe that the AirNet intelligent wideband solution is undoubtedly the way of the future,” said Mario J. Fairlie, Comsyst’s president and chief executive officer. “There is a natural match between AirNet’s base station technology and the marketing, systems integration and support capabilities of Comsyst.”

Bernard R. Smedley, AirNet’s president and chief executive officer added, “Our global business plan is to join forces with strategic partners like Comsyst, who have strong local relationships and the capability of distributing and adding local value to AirNet’s products. Together, we will be well positioned to address the new wireless communications opportunities in Australia and Southeast Asia.

Comsyst specializes in RF solutions for telecommunications and broadcasting, including RF repeaters and radio communications inside tunnels. Comsyst is currently developing radio communications in the bridge tunnels at the new Hong Kong airport. The company also is developing a range of wideband ultra-linear amplifiers for use in multicarrier wideband base stations.
