Objective Systems Integrators, Folsom, Calif., announced it received a multimillion dollar contract from Omnipoint Communications Inc. for its NetExpert framework to be used to manage Omnipoint’s Global System for Mobile communications system. Omnipoint expects to launch initial personal communications services in the New York City metropolitan area in the fourth quarter.
OSI’s NetExpert framework will be used to provide fault, configuration and performance management for Omnipoint, and will interface with other vendors’ operations support systems, including those from Northern Telecom Ltd., Tekelec, Ericsson Inc., Glenayre Technologies Inc. and Tellabs Inc.
OSI provides software that simplifies network integration and management by enabling the object-oriented modeling of complex networks and business products.
