GROUPTALK OFFERS CAMPUS CELLULAR

WAYNE, Penn.-GroupTalk, a new technology designed by Comcast Cellular Communications Inc., provides customized dispatch and work group capabilities for a variety of business and campus environments.

GroupTalk, which consists of cellular phones programmed to reach work group members using a four-digit extension, allows customers to manage and restrict inbound and outbound calls to members of the group.

GroupTalk provides better range, call clarity and efficiency then previous communication devices, the company said.

Among the first organizations to trial GroupTalk were the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Philadelphia Suburban Water Co. Pricing for local area coverage is 20 cents peak time and 16 cents off-peak with a $13 monthly access charge. A one-time software license free per phone also applies.
