MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. reported quarter-end results with $255 million profit, or 40 cents per share, compared with $13 million, or 2 cents per share, (on a pro forma basis) for the same period last year.
Revenues for Lucent’s final fiscal quarter, ended Sept. 30, were $5.9 billion, which is a 24.7 percent increase from $4.7 billion a year ago.
In network operations, revenue increased 42.4 percent to $3.3 billion; in microelectronics products, revenues increased 26.5 percent to $631 million; in business communications systems, revenues increased 16.1 percent to $1.5 billion and in consumer products, revenues decreased 35.6 percent to $311 million.
Domestic revenues in network systems increased 47 percent, and international growth was about 27 percent, driven chiefly by activity in Asia Pacific.
