RadioMail Corp. introduced the Mobile Communicator, a wireless Internet product tailored for deaf and hard of hearing people. Data conversations take place using e-mail, and other features are available including fax, paging, news, sports, stock quotes and text information from Internet web pages.
The Mobile Communicator uses RadioMail’s software and services with Hewlett Packard Co.’s Palmtop personal computer, the Megahertz/U.S. Robotics AllPoints wireless PC card modem and wireless network airtime from RAM Mobile Data.
“For the first time, no matter where I go, I am never out of touch with my office, my children or my husband,” said Sheri Farinha Mutti, chief executive officer of the NorCal Center on Deafness in Sacramento, Calif. “I can communicate from places I never could before.”
