The Palestine Telecommunications Co. is looking for a turnkey provider to design and supply a Global System for Mobile communications network in the areas of Palestinian Authority.
Paltel is a private, one-year-old company with headquarters in Nablus. Paltel signed a 20-year license agreement with the Palestinian Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, according to international reports. Paltel intends to operate various telecom services in the Palestinian areas, which include the West Bank of the Jordan River and the Gaza Strip, both occupied territories in Israel.
According to Pyramid Research Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., Paltel is looking for bidders with extensive international experience in planning, designing, engineering, supplying, installing and commissioning mobile phone networks.
The winner will have an option to purchase an equity share in Paltel’s mobile subsidiary.
Proposals are due Feb 5.
