GLOBUS SET TO TEST PRODUCT SAR LEVELS

KELOWNA, British Columbia-Globus Cellular & User Protection Ltd. said it will investigate the specific absorption rate levels of cellular phone and antenna products available in North America.

SAR measures the amount of radiation absorbed by human tissue. The Globus testing facility will be used to determine if after-market antennas measure up to recent Federal Communications Commission industry guidelines when placed on original equipment phones.

The test will determine whether the after-market antennas expose users to higher microwave radiation levels than recommended by FCC guidelines. The tests also might be used to find more suitable antenna designs, the company said.

In addition, the study will test original equipment manufacturer equipment to see if the phones and antennas fall within industry standards for microwave radiation emissions.
