The House Budget Committee on Friday was expected to approve a balanced budget deal reached by Congress and the White House that anticipates $26.3 billion from spectrum auctions during the next five years.
The plan, which would expand the Federal Communications Commission’s auction authority, expects revenue from auctioning 78 megahertz of analog TV broadcast spectrum, 36 megahertz from TV Channels 60-69 and toll-free vanity telephone numbers. During the next 10 years, the budget plan projects $32.3 billion from spectrum auction receipts.
