KENAN INTRODUCES ARBOR/OM

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.,-Kenan Systems Corp. has introduced Arbor/OM, the first UNIX-based order entry and management system designed to support service providers in the converging communications industries worldwide, including wireline and wireless telephony, Internet and electronic commerce and cable TV.

Kenan supplies billing, customer care and customer analysis software products and services to global multiservice communications companies.

Arbor/OM allows customer service representatives to initiate, track and modify orders for customer accounts, while enabling providers to define and change the sets of tasks needed to establish service for and to bill their customers, said the company. Customer service representatives can manage all services for a customer through a single UNIX-based system. The system gives providers the flexibility to rapidly introduce product and service packages so that they may take advantages of emerging business opportunities, said Kenan.

Arbor/OM is compatible with Kenan’s flagship product, Arbor/BP, a billing and customer care solution. The company recently has entered the wireless market by winning a contract from Australian operator Optus, which has plans to combine wireless and wireline, cable TV and Internet services on one bill. Its customers include Jones Intercable, which offers cable TV and telephony, Siris, which provides international telephony and data services, and Internet access provider AT&T Worldnet.
