PHILADELPHIA-Comcast Cellular Communications Inc. recently presented the city of Philadelphia’s Office of Emergency Management with free cellular phones as part of its Disaster Relief and Preparedness Program.
The Disaster Relief and Preparedness Program was created more than two years ago in an effort to provide instant communications to disaster relief and emergency personnel throughout the tri-state region.
Thus far, Comcast Cellular said it has donated more than 350 phones to organizations including the Red Cross, local emergency management organizations and others as part of the program.
In addition, the company noted it has provided more than 300 phones to Town Watch organizations through its affiliation with the national Communities on Phone Patrol.
