DALLAS-Excel Communications Inc. and NextWave Telecom Inc. signed a letter of intent to negotiate the purchase of wireless airtime by Excel on NextWave’s personal communications services network.
NextWave’s goal is to offer airtime on its Code Division Multiple Access PCS network to other carriers and resellers on a wholesale basis.
“These discussions are consistent with our long-term strategy to introduce new products and services through our marketing network of independent representatives,” said Kenny Troutt, chairman and chief executive officer of Excel, a Dallas-based long-distance company.
