CARROLLTON, Texas-CellStar Corp. recently announced the expansion of its prepaid operations with the completion of an equity investment in Topp Telecom Inc.
Topp’s prepaid phones, TracFone, are available in more than 5,000 retail locations throughout the United States, including more than 3,000 Radio Shack stores.
CellStar, which will provide all distribution and facilitation services for Topp, says Topp has more than 30,000 active prepaid subscribers today with approximately 300 new subscribers added daily.
F.J. Pollak, president and chief executive officer of Topp, said the company will “exit the inventory and fulfillment business and focus on technology, cellular activations and customer service.”
