PAGENET TO START SUREPAGE SERVICE

LAS VEGAS-Paging Network Inc. introduced its new guaranteed-delivery text messaging service, called SurePage Nationwide Delivery.

Airtime for the service will be provided by Mobile Telecommunication Technologies Corp.’s SkyTel ReFLEX 50 two-way network, resold and marketed by PageNet. SurePage stores messages when customers are out of range or their pager is turned off, then delivers the message when the unit is back in range or turned back on.

Additionally, the company plans to market the service with a new pager, called the AccessMate, made by Glenayre Technologies Inc.’s newly acquired Wireless Access Group. The four-line alphanumeric pager is touted as the smallest advanced messaging device on the market, close to the size and weight of current one-way pagers. It is scheduled to be available by the middle of the year.
