WAYNE, Pa.-Comcast Cellular Communications Inc. said it launched the Comcast International Roaming service to provide business customers with communications services in 70 countries.
Customers use their existing wireless number, which is programmed into a Subscriber Identity Module card containing account information and relevant data that allows Comcast customers to continue using their phone numbers and be billed on the Comcast invoice, said the company.
The new Comcast roaming service, based on Global System for Mobile communications technology, is charged at a flat rate of $2.39 per minute with an annual $50 access fee. Incoming calls from the United States incur a toll charge.
Comcast Cellular is a subsidiary of Comcast Corp., and serves a population of 8.2 million in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
