MCLEAN, Va.-LCC International Inc. offered GSM World Congress attendees in Cannes, France, a sneak peek at its next-generation wireless network planning and optimization software, the company said.
The pre-commercial version of the product, code-named Golf, will be officially launched at the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association’s Wireless ’98 show in Atlanta this week.
Golf will provide macrocell and microcell propagation modeling and optimization, service area analysis, automatic neighbor list generation and traffic distribution creation for networks based on several technologies, said LCC.
The new product is scheduled for release in the third quarter.
LCC is calling the software Golf only while it conducts a contest at the GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) World Congress and Wireless ’98 to find an appropriate name.
