ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-The Cellular Infrastructure Group of Motorola Inc. said it successfully completed hand-over tests between Global System for Mobile communications 900 MHz and 1800 MHz dual-band cellular systems currently being trialed in China’s Hunan Province.
The dual-band hand-over tests were made among five GSM 1800 MHz base stations, which Motorola CIG installed in the province’s capital city of Changsha, and GSM 900 MHz cells.
Motorola CIG first supplied a GSM 900 MHz system to Hunan in 1996, and after several phases of expansion, the system has grown into a network with a capacity of 600,000 subscribers.
