MANCHESTER, N.H.-Summa Four Inc. announced it will demonstrate Project Sigma this week at the Supercomm show in Atlanta.
This new addition to Summa Four’s product family is a telco-capable, standards-based programmable switching platform, and is the result of co-development partnership with Dialogic Corp. announced last June.
Project Sigma represents a new generation of programmable switches, said Summa Four. It supports a unified call and media control Application Programmatic Interface based on S.100 and TAPI 3.0. This reduces the time and cost of developing programmable switch-based services, as well as allows the seamless integration of off-the-shelf applications, according to the company.
Project Sigma’s system controllers run an embedded version of Microsoft Corp. Windows NT Server, providing access to a broad range of application development tools and system utilities, said the company.
Summa Four said Project Sigma is scheduled to enter field trials in July and has earned the endorsements of several launch partners, including ADC Wireless, Aeris Communications, Alliance Systems, e-Net, In.Fi.Tel.italia, National TechTeam, SynapSys and TCS.
